I photograph women.

The longer I do this, the less interested I become in photographing only the version of a woman she already knows — the one she considers flattering, presentable, worth showing. I’m much more curious about what happens when, for a moment, she forgets about getting it right.

I have been photographing women for almost a decade. And somewhere along the way, I became interested in much more than making a woman look beautiful in a photograph. I started noticing what happens in front of the camera.

Most women arrive with an idea of how they should look. They know which side they prefer, what they want to hide, what they think is flattering and what isn’t.

And then, during the shoot, something changes. She laughs in a way she didn’t plan to. She puts on something she would never have chosen for herself. She becomes quieter, bolder, softer, more sensual, more playful. None of these women are different people. They are all her.

That is probably what interests me most about photographing women: not creating a better version of someone, but seeing how much of one person can exist in a single room.

YOU DON’T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED

Most of the women you see in my photographs are not models.

They don’t arrive knowing where to put their hands, how to stand, what to do with their face or which angle will photograph best.

And I don’t expect them to.

Being photogenic is not something you need to bring to a photoshoot. Creating the conditions in which you can be photographed well is my job. And that work starts before we meet.

I pay a lot of attention to preparation. We talk about clothing, references, what you are drawn to and what you are not. I want to know enough about you that when you walk into my studio, we are not starting from zero. During the shoot, I guide you through everything. You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to perform confidence. And you definitely don’t need to become someone else for my camera.

You just need to come. I’ll take care of the rest.

MY APPROACH

I don’t photograph women to perfect them.

I photograph them because I find them interesting.

A beautiful photograph matters to me. Composition matters. Light matters. Clothes matter. The way a body moves inside a frame matters.

I have a very specific taste, and I don’t pretend otherwise. But perfection has never been particularly interesting to me.

I prefer photographs that still feel like the person in them. Skin that looks like skin. Bodies that still belong to the women I photographed. Expressions that weren’t manufactured for the camera. This is also why my retouching is intentionally natural. I remove temporary distractions and polish the image, but I don’t routinely change bodies, facial features or the things that make someone recognizable as herself. I want you to look at your photographs and think:

That is me.

Maybe not the version you see every morning in the mirror.

But still unmistakably you.

THE EXPERIENCE

A photoshoot with me isn’t built around getting through a list of poses.

We have time. We look at clothes. We talk. We try things. Sometimes something we planned doesn’t work at all, and something we never planned becomes my favorite photograph of the day. I direct a lot, especially in the beginning. As the shoot goes on, I direct less. That’s intentional. I don’t expect you to walk into the studio relaxed in front of a camera. Very few people are.

My job is to get you to the point where you stop thinking quite so much about being photographed. That is usually when the photographs become interesting.

A NOTE ABOUT BEAUTY

I have photographed hundreds of women, and I still don’t think a photographer can give a woman self-esteem. A photoshoot can’t fix the relationship you have with your body. And I don’t think a photograph has that responsibility.

But photography can sometimes show us something we weren’t paying attention to. A gesture. A look. A softness we normally dismiss.
A strength we have become too accustomed to noticing.

I don’t promise that you will suddenly see yourself differently after being photographed by me.

But I can promise that I will pay attention.

And sometimes being looked at carefully — without trying to correct you — is interesting enough on its own.

PRICING

ALL SESSIONS REQUIRE $150 DEPOSIT AT BOOKING

This covers the reservation of the date and time preparation of the session. This fee is nonrefundable.

ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO HST

All images or a significant part of them will be done in my signature black-and-white editing style. As an artist, I reserve the right to choose the style and color of my work. Before booking a shoot, please make sure that you resonate with my artistic style.

I believe that natural and real is the most beautiful and authentic way to be photographed, and it’s for that reason that I don’t offer heavy retouching and editing. I spot edit temporary blemishes and smooth out skin texture, but professional retouching is something that perpetuates a false standard of beauty, so I choose not to do it.
